The B&O Trail’s Northfield Tunnel is getting another splash of color! This September, Indiana muralist Elizabeth Wertman, known professionally as Blondebrush, will return to Brownsburg to transform the south wall of the tunnel with a new mural. The mural design puts a playful spin on the community’s motorsports identity, featuring wildlife driving race cars.

Wertman’s 2025 mural transformed the north wall of the Northfield tunnel with racing imagery, featuring oval-track cars and dragsters inspired by Brownsburg’s motorsports history.

Watch the Mural Come to Life

Painting will take place September 7–9. Trail users can continue through the tunnel during the project, but please slow down and use caution. Artists and equipment will be present in the area, and trail traffic may be temporarily narrowed.

Where to Find It

The mural is located along the B&O Trail where Northfield Drive crosses overhead.

You can access the tunnel from:

• Cardinal Park: Park and enjoy about a one-mile walk or ride east toward Ronald Reagan Parkway.
• Virgil Park: Park and head west about half a mile for a shorter stroll.
