On Thursday, July 23, the Brownsburg Town Council President issued a proclamation declaring National Farmers Market Week.

The Brownsburg Town Council President encourages all residents to join in celebrating the abundance of our farmers markets and to support our farmers by purchasing fresh, locally grown produce.

Whereas, National Farmers Week celebrates the essential role that farmers markets play in strengthening our local food systems, supporting small businesses, and fostering community connection; and

Whereas, the Brownsburg Farmers Market plays a vital role connecting residents with fresh, locally grown and produced goods, and contributing to the $1.7 billion generated annually by farmers markets across the U.S. economy through direct-to-consumer sales; and

Whereas, since its founding in 2009, the Brownsburg Farmers Market has proudly supported 70 weekly vendors and food trucks including local farms and artisans, providing an accessible, community-centered outlet for selling their goods and sustaining their livelihoods; and

Whereas, for seventeen years, the Brownsburg Farmers Market has been a Thursday evening tradition in the summertime, offering everything from farm-fresh vegetables, pasture-raised meats, local honey, handmade crafts, baked goods, soaps, and home essentials; and

Whereas, beyond the goods sold, the Market fosters a vibrant sense of community through specialty themed nights and weekly live music, showcasing the creativity and diversity of central Indiana’s farmers, producers, and artisans.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Ben Lacey, Town Council President of the Town of Brownsburg, do hereby proclaim August 2nd through 8th, 2026, as

National Farmers Market Week

in the Town of Brownsburg, and celebrate the Brownsburg Farmers Market’s 17th year of operation in our community.
