On Thursday, March 13, the Brownsburg Town Council President issued a proclamation recognizing National Vietnam Veterans Day.

The Brownsburg Town Council encourages residents to acknowledge the courage, sacrifice, honor and positive achievements of our nation’s Vietnam Veterans and their families and firmly represent that we proudly welcome them home.

Whereas, National Vietnam Veterans Day gives the opportunity for all Americans to recognize, honor and thank our Vietnam Veterans and their families for their service and sacrifices during the Vietnam War from November 1, 1955 – May 15, 1975; and 

Whereas, this commemoration includes nine million Americans and makes no distinction who served in-country, in-theater, or were stationed elsewhere during those 20 years – all answered the call of duty; and 

Whereas, during the conflict more than 304,000 service members were wounded, 75,000 disabled and 58,000 killed. Thousands spent time in prison camps and 1,548 are still Missing in Action; and 

Whereas, we must never forget the debt we owe these men and women who have loyally served our nation in battle; we must never take for granted their contributions and sacrifices; and we must remember with honor those who have so unselfishly put themselves in harm’s way so that we may live in peace; and 

Whereas, March 29 has been designated as National Vietnam Veterans Day; and 

Whereas, the residents of Brownsburg, acknowledge the courage, sacrifice, honor and positive achievements of our nations’ Vietnam Veterans and their families, and firmly represent that we proudly welcome them home; 

Now, therefore, I, Travis Tschaenn, Town Council President of the Town of Brownsburg, do hereby proclaim March 29, 2025 as 

WELCOME HOME VIETNAM VETERANS’ DAY 

in the Town of Brownsburg.
