The summer months are full of exciting activities, but if you have some extra free time on a Thursday evening, make sure to check out the Brownsburg Farmers Market. Every week through the end of August from 4-7 p.m. you can find an array of stands at Town Hall Green selling everything from lemonade to jewelry.
For those looking for a classic farmers market feel, plenty of farm stands are selling traditional local honey and produce. However, the Brownsburg Farmers Market is perfect for those looking for something new and exciting.
Locally owned and operated Garden Gals is one example, as the owner Kaylee Henson sells fresh flower bouquets and embroidery. She is a master gardener and artist, which shines through in her embroidered hats and unique bouquets.

“I’d say my specialty is growing and selling cut flowers, but also I’m an artist, and it’s a good opportunity to showcase that here,” Henson said.
The market is also a great place to support young entrepreneurs such as Emma Decker, 9 years old, and Elyana Waycoh, 11 years old. Decker sells colorful handmade beaded keychains, while Waycoh sells 3D printed fidgets and other useful tools.

“I was searching up stuff I could do over the summer, and then I saw something about making bracelets. I was just like, I can sell keychains and have something fun and different to do,” Decker said.
If the flowers and fidgets don’t catch your eye, you can make your way over to Fireside Bookstore, where owner Elizabeth Burfield repurposes old books to make “book blind dates.”

“We specialize in blind dates with a book, so you get a surprise book. You don’t know the author or the title,” Burfield said, “but you know the genre and a few little details. Then I wrap it to decorate the cover of the book, so you kind of get a theme before you open it.”
With everything the market has to offer, there is something for everyone. Don’t miss out on a chance to explore new businesses and support your community, and make your way to the Brownsburg Farmer’s Market when you have a free Thursday.
