Join Brownsburg's Boards & Commissions: Volunteer Today!

The Town of Brownsburg is seeking passionate and engaged residents to serve on several Boards and Commissions in 2026. These volunteer positions offer residents a meaningful way to help shape Brownsburg’s future by contributing their time and expertise to the community’s growth and governance.

“The Town benefits greatly from residents who are enthusiastic about Brownsburg and dedicated to making a difference,” said Town Council President Travis Tschaenn. “We’re looking for individuals who want to work collaboratively to enhance our community and the quality of life for all who call Brownsburg home.”

Available Positions

Advisory Planning Commission: Members serve a four-year term and are vital in guiding land use and development decisions to support community growth.
Board of Police Commissioners: Members serve three years, overseeing and supporting the Brownsburg Police Department.
Redevelopment Authority: Members serve a three-year term and meet as needed to finance, construct, and lease local public improvements to the Redevelopment Commission.
Redevelopment Commission: Members serve a one-year term and focus on revitalizing key areas, encouraging economic development, and fostering new investment in Brownsburg.

Board and commission meetings are held monthly at Town Hall, 61 N. Green Street. Meetings are open to the public and are live-streamed and archived for viewing online.

Residents interested in serving can apply online at brownsburg.org. Applications are accepted year-round and kept on file, as openings arise annually. Applicants must reside within the Brownsburg town limits.

“Civic engagement is essential to a thriving community,” said Town Council Member Ben Lacey. “Serving on a board or commission is an excellent opportunity to be directly involved in Brownsburg’s continued success.”

Completed applications must be submitted by November 21. The Town Council will conduct interviews during the first week of December.
