Parks Department Receives Sponsorship from Mercury Marine for Camp Scholarships

The Town of Brownsburg Parks received a $1,000 donation from the Mercury Marine Brownsburg distribution center to support the department’s “Send a Kid to Camp” scholarship program.

Mercury Marine employees raised the funds through internal fundraising efforts, helping provide local students with access to summer camp opportunities through the parks department. The donation will support nearly four weeks of camp through the scholarship program.

“We are grateful for Mercury Marine’s support of our scholarship program and their investment in local families,” said Youth Services Manager Jamilah Vanholten. “Programs like Send a Kid to Camp help ensure more children have the opportunity to learn, play, and build friendships throughout the summer.”

The Send a Kid to Camp Scholarship assists families with summer camp registration costs and helps make recreational opportunities more accessible to the community. Scholarships are awarded based on demonstrated financial need and the applicant’s expressed interest in participating in camp.

Applications are open and can be found at Brownsburg Parks Summer Camp Scholarships.
