On Thursday, September 10, the Brownsburg Town Council President issued a proclamation remembering the 25th anniversary of 9/11.

Members of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Wa-Pe-Key Chapter were present for the reading as well as the Brownsburg Fire Territory.

Full text of the proclamation is available below:

Whereas, September 11, 2026, marks the 25th anniversary of the horrific terrorist attacks on our nation; and

Whereas, the residents of the Town of Brownsburg join Americans across the country in honoring the memory of the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001; and

Whereas, we recognize the extraordinary courage of the firefighters, law enforcement officers, emergency medical personnel, and other first responders who risked their lives in the rescue and recovery efforts, as well as the countless citizens who acted selflessly to help others during the attacks; and

Whereas, we honor the members of the United States Armed Forces who have served our nation in the years since September 11, 2001, and recognize the sacrifices made by military members and their families in defense of our country; and

Whereas, on this on this 25th anniversary, we pause to remember those we lost, honor the courage and sacrifice of those who responded, and reaffirm our commitment to the values of unity, service, resilience, and freedom.

Now, Therefore, I, Ben Lacey, Town Council President of the Town of Brownsburg, do hereby proclaim September 11, 2026, as:

DAY OF REMEMBRANCE

in the Town of Brownsburg and call this observance to the attention of all residents.
