Ride Through Nature at Natural Valley Ranch

Escape to Natural Valley Ranch, a scenic 78-acre property where rolling hills meet the banks of White Lick Creek. Whether you’re a seasoned rider or a beginner, you can choose from 30- or 60-minute guided trail rides that wind through beautiful landscapes.

Along the way, you’ll spot local wildlife and visit the ranch’s barns filled with horses, cows, sheep, and goats. Interested in learning to ride? Lessons are available for all ages and skill levels, making it a perfect adventure for the whole family.

Meet Rescued Animals Up Close

If you’re looking for a place to connect with farm animals, Oinking Acres Farm & Rescue Sanctuary (Photo by @oinkingacresfarm) is the perfect destination. The property is home to various rescued animals including pigs, cows, goats, chickens, and even peacocks! 

Oinking Acres is open for visitors on Saturdays and Sundays with an admission donation fee. The farm offers the opportunity to learn about farm animals and their daily routines. Visitors can take a self-guided tour of the sanctuary to see the animals up close, learn about their backgrounds and personalities, and even participate in feeding them. While Oinking Acres is not a petting zoo, calm and gentle petting is allowed. Some pigs may even roll over for belly rubs! Be sure to walk through the barn to visit the housebroken pigs with rooms complete with TVs, blankets, and beds.

Montrose Farms Alpaca Ranch is a picturesque destination for animal lovers and nature enthusiasts alike. The ranch is home to a variety of friendly and curious alpacas that visitors can interact with and learn about. The ranch owners are passionate about their alpacas’ well-being and offer various educational tours, workshops, and even yoga classes! 

Pumpkin Picking

No fall visit is complete without a visit to the pumpkin patch! Hogan Farms (Photo by @goldenfoxplants) offers a variety of activities that are sure to delight visitors of all ages. The main attraction, of course, is the pumpkin patch. 

But that’s not all! Hogan Farms also features a challenging, themed corn maze that winds through over 10 acres of tall cornstalks. Visitors who dare to enter the maze are given a map and trivia to help guide the way. There’s also a hayride that takes visitors around the farm, providing a scenic view of the beautiful countryside. Hogan Farms is open from late September through Halloween on select weekends. Admission fees may apply for certain activities.
