The Town of Brownsburg Parks Department closed out 2025 with strong participation across programs, events, facilities, and volunteer initiatives.
Throughout the year, Brownsburg Parks offered 101 recreation programs and events, welcoming a total of 28,448 participants. These opportunities ranged from youth and nature-based programs to special and community events designed to bring residents together and enhance quality of life. The department also introduced several new programs and events, including the family-friendly Hopping Down the Bunny Trail, the spirited Battle of Brownsburg, and the Brownsburg Field of Honor, which honors veterans.

Recreation programs and events generated $312,034.88 in revenue, reflecting strong demand for accessible, high-quality experiences for all ages.
“Our parks and programs continue to be places where the community connects,” said Parks Director Amber Lane.
Facility usage remained high in 2025, with indoor and outdoor spaces supporting community gatherings, private rentals, and department programming. The department recorded:
- 1,195 total facility reservations
- 15,455 indoor facility users
- 27,238 outdoor facility users
- $145,308 in total facility revenue
Popular amenities such as Bundy Lodge, Eaton Hall, park shelters, and the dog park continued to see consistent use, while the Williams Park splash pad averaged approximately 250 daily users during peak season, May through September.
The department also made significant progress in maintenance and natural resources, completing 3,508 work orders totaling 10,890 labor hours. A focus on planned maintenance contributed to a notable reduction in deferred maintenance compared to the previous year, helping extend the life of park facilities and infrastructure. Brownsburg Parks continued its commitment to urban forestry as a Tree City USA community for the tenth consecutive year in 2025, planting, pruning, maintaining, and responsibly managing hundreds of trees across the park system.

Virgil Park, which opened in 2024, received awards this year for sustainability and design excellence. The park’s prairie restoration, accessible amenities, and innovative natural features earned praise across Indiana.

Volunteers played a vital role in supporting parks and recreation efforts in 2025. A total of 131 volunteers contributed 1,305 hours, providing an estimated $41,488 in service value through stewardship projects, events, programs, and group initiatives.

Several capital improvement projects were completed in 2025, enhancing both functionality and visitor experience. Highlights included:
- Renovation of the Williams Park splash pad
- Improvements to basketball courts at Williams Park and Arbuckle Acres Park
- Installation of two new murals along the B&O Trail, adding public art that reflects Brownsburg’s community identity
- Numerous smaller upgrades, such as picnic table replacements and targeted facility improvements across the park system
Together, these efforts underscore the department’s commitment to maintaining safe, welcoming, and engaging parks and facilities while planning responsibly for future growth.
