Town of Brownsburg Invites Residents to Serve on Boards and Commissions

The Town of Brownsburg is seeking dedicated residents to apply for positions on several Boards and Commissions. These positions offer a unique opportunity to contribute to the community’s growth and governance. The Town is committed to building a diverse team of community leaders to guide Brownsburg’s future.

“We are seeking individuals who are enthusiastic about our town and dedicated to working diligently to enhance residents’ quality of life,” said Town Council President Travis Tschaenn. 

Available Positions

  • Advisory Planning Commission: Members will serve a four-year term, playing a critical role in land use and development decisions to ensure thoughtful growth and development within the town.
  • Board of Police Commissioners: This board offers residents a three-year term opportunity to oversee and support the town’s police force, ensuring the safety and security of the community.
  • Board of Zoning Appeals: A four-year term position where members will address zoning issues, variances, and special exceptions, contributing to the town’s orderly development.
  • Redevelopment Commission: A one-year term opportunity focused on revitalizing areas in need, encouraging new development, and enhancing economic opportunities within Brownsburg.

Board and commission meetings are held monthly at Town Hall, 61 N. Green Street, open to the public. In addition, the meetings are live-streamed and archived.

How to Apply

Residents interested in applying for these positions can do so online. Applications are accepted year-round and kept on file, as vacancies sometimes arise annually.

Applicants must be a Brownsburg resident.

“Civic engagement is crucial for addressing community issues, and serving on a board or commission is an excellent way to get involved,” said Town Council Vice President Ben Lacey.

Completed applications must be submitted by November 22.

Interviews

The Town Council will be conducting interviews the first week of December. This is a chance for residents to present their vision, skills, and commitment to the town’s leadership and community.
