Support Urban Reforestation With Fall Tree Sale

Find the perfect native tree for your yard by shopping our annual Fall Tree Sale, in partnership with Tree City USA.

Online ordering begins on September 1-29. Trees will be delivered to 46112 residents between October 3-6. Orders placed outside of 46112 can be picked up beginning October 3 at the Parks Administrative Office (402 E. Main St.), Monday-Friday between the hours of 9 a.m.- 4 p.m.

The sale will feature six different species of native trees all grown locally from seed in Hendricks County. A list of trees for sale can be found online. All trees will come in 3-gallon nursery pots.

Fall is the best time to plant native trees. It gives them an extra growing season before the stress of summer, and there’s no need to worry about young native trees surviving winter because they go dormant — the plant equivalent of hibernation.

Native trees are good garden additions because they are better equipped to handle Indiana weather conditions and don’t require fertilizer, pesticides, herbicides, or watering once established.

They provide greater soil stability as well as food and habitat for native wildlife, including pollinators.
