Join the Leadership Brownsburg Academy for 2026

The Town of Brownsburg is now accepting applications for the 2026 session of the Leadership Brownsburg Academy, a free, eight-session program designed for residents and business owners who want to take a deeper role in shaping our community.

A police officer trains a Belgian Malinois dog in a parking lot, where another officer and a civilian participate in the training. The dog's handler is holding a leash, demonstrating commands, while the civilian wears protective gear.

Through interactive learning, hands-on activities, and behind-the-scenes tours, participants will gain a unique perspective on how Brownsburg’s local government operates.

“Our Leadership Brownsburg Academy offers residents a behind-the-scenes look at how the Town of Brownsburg operates and helps them develop specialized knowledge about our departments and programs,” said Town Council President Travis Tschaenn. “This program empowers our local leaders to advocate for our Brownsburg community more effectively through interactive learning.”

  • June 9 – Water & Wastewater

Each session features a 1-hour presentation by department heads, followed by a group activity to understand complex topics or a facility tour.

A group of participants engaged in a hands-on learning experience at a wastewater treatment facility, listening to a presentation from a female instructor among green surroundings and blue skies.

Past participants say the Academy gave them a new appreciation for the people and departments that keep Brownsburg running smoothly.

“Leadership Brownsburg Academy has truly given me a better understanding of all the departments, roles, and work that are part of a successful local government!”

Ready to lead and learn? Applications are open for residents and local business owners. Apply today and be part of Brownsburg’s next generation of community leaders. The application will be open through January 9. Participants will be notified of their acceptance into the program on January 19.
