The Town of Brownsburg is now accepting applications for the 2026 session of the Leadership Brownsburg Academy, a free, eight-session program designed for residents and business owners who want to take a deeper role in shaping our community.

Through interactive learning, hands-on activities, and behind-the-scenes tours, participants will gain a unique perspective on how Brownsburg’s local government operates.
“Our Leadership Brownsburg Academy offers residents a behind-the-scenes look at how the Town of Brownsburg operates and helps them develop specialized knowledge about our departments and programs,” said Town Council President Travis Tschaenn. “This program empowers our local leaders to advocate for our Brownsburg community more effectively through interactive learning.”

What to Expect
Participants commit to attending at least 6 of the 8 sessions (2–4 p.m. monthly, February–September) plus a graduation ceremony. Each session highlights a different aspect of Town operations:
- February 10 – Introduction to the Town & Leadership Development
- March 10 – Development Services & Economic Development
- April 14 – Fire Territory
- May 12 – Brownsburg Parks
- June 9 – Water & Wastewater
- July 14 – Capital Projects, Street, Fleet
- August 11 – Brownsburg Police Department
- September 8 – Government 101
- October 8 – Graduation at Town Council Meeting
Each session features a 1-hour presentation by department heads, followed by a group activity to understand complex topics or a facility tour.

Past participants say the Academy gave them a new appreciation for the people and departments that keep Brownsburg running smoothly.
“Leadership Brownsburg Academy has truly given me a better understanding of all the departments, roles, and work that are part of a successful local government!”
