The Town of Brownsburg is proud to recognize the 196 volunteers and 12 organizations who contributed to the department’s success in 2024. Their dedicated efforts resulted in a total of 1,405 volunteer hours, translating to a savings of $44,676.46 in labor costs, this almost doubled from 2023. Volunteers played an essential role in supporting the department, assisting with major projects, event coordination, and ongoing park maintenance. Their invaluable contributions continue to strengthen the community of Brownsburg and enhance the quality of our parks and recreational services.
We’re incredibly grateful for the volunteers who made the previous year a success at Brownsburg Parks. Their contributions were vital in supporting both environmental efforts and community events. Volunteers helped maintain green spaces through activities like the Weed Wrangle, Arbor Day Tree Planting, and habitat restoration projects such as the Hoosier Helping Habitat initiative and B&O Trail Cleanup. They also assisted with Earth Day Garlic Mustard Pulls and Litter Clean-Ups to keep our parks beautiful.
In the community, volunteers supported events like Movies in the Park, Father-Daughter Dance, Summer Soundtracks, and notable seasonal activities like the Teen Egg Hunt, Mother-Son Bonfire, the Howl-O-Ween Dog Costume Contest and Full Moon Hike. We also thank our volunteer photographer for capturing these moments, preserving the memories for years to come.
