Discover Country Harmony: Your Local Garden and Home Haven

Are you an aspiring gardener or looking to spruce up your indoor and outdoor space? Take a trip to Country Harmony to blossom those ideas! Located at 721 N. Green St., Country Harmony Home and Garden is a one-of-a-kind home and garden store with a wide selection of seasonal home decor, gifts, food lines, and a revolving selection of plants provided by various local growers.

This charming and cozy store originally started as a family business in 1974 on 10th Street. By 1978, the branch had moved operations to Brownsburg, where it first opened as a gift shop in the strip mall next to Kroger. Around 1980, Country Harmony settled into its present location, additionally blooming into a thriving garden center.

“Here at Country Harmony, you can expect quality. Our staff is extensively trained to inform customers of the standards for caring for their plants,” Owner Ryan Denhart shares. “We use a lot of local growers. We push for quality over quantity.”

The garden center offers a wide selection of rare plant varieties. It is open year-round, and
customers can expect to find in-season plants as well as seasonal items such as pumpkins and Christmas trees. Country Harmony also provides a diverse selection of vibrant flowers, attentive landscaping services, and lush greenery. The staff ensures quality products by rotating watering and thoroughly caring for each plant based on their individual needs.

“There’s an up-and-coming demand to try to get rid of invasive species and return to native species,” shares Denhart. “You can expect to find all of our products well-maintained as we strive for the absolute best product to go out the door.”

But it doesn’t stop there. Country Harmony aims to ensure that the best plants leave the store and stay alive once they are brought home. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable about all the plants and is prepared to guide anyone through plant
maintenance, even those without a green thumb.

“Our staff really have to know it all to work here,” Ryan noted. “We all take turns caring for the plants, including rotating shifts for daily watering.”

Country Harmony is also a one-stop shop for all things home goods. From seasonal couch pillows to baking spices, the store offers a wide selection of seasonal decor and more. Visitors can try different cocktail mixes, smell their favorite candle scents, or try many of the different treats like chocolate or peanut brittle.

“I’m a big fan of some of the food lines that we get in,” says owner Ryan Denhart. “These items are very fun to try and sometimes have recipes that go along with them. You can definitely get creative!”

About 78 percent of Country Harmony’s revenue is generated from out-of-town visitors. Due to the shop’s proximity to I-74, many travelers make it a habit to stop by when traveling through Brownsburg. This has made Country Harmony a destination location, drawing customers from all over the country.

“We love being able to meet all sorts of new people and connect them with quality products,” explains Ryan. “We’ll get some customers that stop in annually because they can only find a specific product at our store.” At the core of the business, Ryan emphasizes the importance and appreciation for Country Harmony’s customers.

“We are thrilled to celebrate 50 years in business in Brownsburg, as this has been a longstanding goal for our store. We look forward to many more years of serving our customers,” Denhart shares.
